November Picnic and Meeting

The GBP Member Picnic will be held on Sunday, November 13th at Eastgate Park - 2:30pm to 6pm ( a map will be provided at a later date). This will also serve as our monthly meeting but the meeting will not last long because we want to have plenty of time to enjoy the picnic and fun.

Cords and stoles will be presented to members graduating in December and the Member of the Semester award will be presented (be sure and send in your nominations to Scotty). Also we are collecting Wal-Mart gift cards in denominations of at least $15 in exchange for a service project credit and 2 points, these cards will be used to purchase turkeys for needy families around the wiregrass. Due to the fact that there is a lot going on at the picnic....Gift cards should be noted on the sign in sheet beside your name BUT they should be given directly to Scotty so that we can make sure that they do not get lost in the shuffle.

There is a fishing pond that will be available to us, however, you must have a Alabama fishing license if you are between the ages of 16-65. (Bring your own fishing gear and bait) I thought we could play Frisbee, football or whatever...if you have any ideas let me know. The picnic is a family event; there will be food, games, prizes, fishing and loads of fun so make plans to attend this fun day and bring your families.  

It is important that we have a general headcount so PLEASE reply to Donna at cjs_mama2000@yahoo.com with the number of people that will be attending (including yourself). We have to make sure that we have enough meat for everybody! Each member should bring a side dish/dessert or both. You will receive points like this was a meeting at the school and for bringing a side dish you will receive the same points as if you were bringing a refreshment to the meeting.
We decided that it would be easier if we kept up with what each member was bringing to the picnic so we didn't end up with 10 of the same side dishes/desserts, in order to do that, I will keep a record of the dishes being brought and update it as I get new info from y'all. I will send the list out to you guys so you will be able to decide what to bring. I will not include members names on the list only the dishes because whose bringing what is not important.

Finally~

We always do door prizes at our meetings and the picnic is no exception. The difference is that we want to have lots of door prizes and to make sure that we have prizes that are unisex adult and unisex children. We will also have a big prize at the picnic that people can donate a dollar for the chance to win it. No decision has been made yet as to what it will be but in the past we have had digital cameras, home theater systems, Blu Ray DVD Players and stereo systems...so know that it will be a NICE prize this year too!! $1 donations will get you in the drawing so be sure and bring a little cash with you!
