Scholarship
Because we are an honor society,
scholarship is a critical factor for admission into the society. Our members
represent the top twenty percent of their respective classes and tend to
maintain academic excellence throughout their college careers. We require that
once inducted, the members do not drop below the top thirty percent of their
classmates.
Scholarships are offered on the state
level. Each year applicants submit their information at the State Convention.
Any member from each of the six chartered schools in Alabama may apply. A
scholarship committee is comprised of volunteers from schools who did not have
any applicants. They review the applications and render their decision at the
National Convention, usually two months following the State Convention, at the
State Caucus. The Troy Dothan Chapter has been fortunate in recent years to have
a winner from its membership.
